The Maritim Alps feature many impressive gorges. The Cians ones are special owing to the red color of the rocks, similar to the color found in some parts of the Tinee valley.
The Cians drops 1600m in 25km between Beuil et Touët sur Var.
The journey by car along the river lasts half an hour. Expect one hour first to go to Touët from Nice.
Driving uphill, the gorges become narrow and steep after the Pras d'Astier. The rocky walls sometimes obliterate the sky.
